Are the medicinal parts of a plant are sometimes called Plant-based or Botanicals and can be used for health purposes or as a food flavoring. Herbs are edible leaves, flowers, or roots of approved and tested edible plants which add fragrance and aromatic infusion to any meal, mostly dried and pungent used as condiments or garnishment to season and flavor a recipe. Herbs are mostly in their original state, unaltered or tampered with, except the drying process.
Herbs are different from spices or seasonings because most or all Herbs are medicinal and highly beneficial.
While herbs are not the main ingredients of any meal, they are mostly combined in creating a recipe.
Unlike spices or seasonings which can be used by themselves in certain recipes, herbs must be combined with one or more herbs or spices to achieve a unique blend. But for medicinal purposes, Herbs can be used solely by themselves. Brewing Rosemary leaves with hot water and a few drops of honey can aid in the relief of certain ailments like thrush or hair loss and is a great way to boost immune health. I brew Marjoram leaves which help with depression, digestive issues, and hormonal problems.
