The Angry Fisherman Soup

A rich, aromatic seafood medley featuring crab legs, shrimp, mussels, and fish, all simmered in a spiced broth infused with Sisi Lola's signature seasonings.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp Sisi Lola Lemon olive oil

  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp Sisi Lola Crab boil Seasoning

  • ½ tsp Sisi Lola Ground White Pepper

  • ½ tsp Sisi Lola Ground Mustard

  • 1 tsp Sisi Lola Fish Seasoning

  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes, with juice

  • 4 cups seafood or fish stock

  • 1 lb crab legs, cleaned and pre-cooked

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 1 lb mussels, scrubbed and debearded

  • 1 lb firm white fish (like cod or halibut), cut into chunks

  • Sisi Lola Sea Salt, to taste

  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

  • Lemon wedges, for serving

 

  1. Sauté Aromatics: In a large pot, pour the olive oil and add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.

  2. Add Spices: Stir in Sisi Lola Fish Seasoning, Crab boil Seasoning, Ground White Pepper, Ground Mustard. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  3. Build the Broth: Add diced tomatoes with their juice and seafood stock to the pot. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for 10 minutes to meld flavors.

  4. Add Seafood:

    • Fish: Add fish chunks to the simmering broth and cook for 5 minutes.

    • Crab Legs: Add crab legs and cook for another 5 minutes.

    • Mussels: Add mussels, cover the pot, and cook until they open, about 5 minutes. Discard any that do not open.

    • Shrimp: Finally, add shrimp and cook until they turn pink, about 3 minutes.

  5. Season and Serve: Taste the soup and adjust salt if necessary. Ladle into bowls, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
